The Public Information Officer (PIO) is responsible for all dissemination of news and information to the media and the public.  The duties and responsibilities of the P.I.O. are:

Assist news personnel at the scene of incidents

Assist the news media on an on-call basis

Prepare and distribute news releases

Arrange news conferences

Coordinate the release of authorized information
